13 Best Quit-Smoking Tips Ever

I was in the process of putting together some information for a blog post when I came across a nice article at WebMD.com. It is a slideshow called "13 Best Quit-Smoking Tips Ever". The slideshow lists 1 tip on each slide along with additional info about each tip. Although I won't post the additional information here, I thought I would list the tips.   1. Know why you want to quit.
  2. Don't go cold turkey.
  3. Try nicotine-replacement therapy.
  4. Ask about prescription pills.
  5. Don't go it alone.
  6. Manage stress.
  7. Avoid alcohol and other triggers.
  8. Clean house.
  9. Try and try again.
  10. Get moving.
  11. Eat fruit and veggies.
  12. Choose your reward.
  13. Do it for your health.

  1. Hi Jeff - I just posted to you on Quitnet and then followed your link here. Quit tip #2 makes it sound as if nicotine replacement is essential. It never made sense to me - would you give an alcoholic a few sips of wine to help him quit? I do recommend you get hold of the Allen Carr book, read it with an open mind (very important) and follow directions absolutely. I smoked for decades and this really helped me quit. (No nicotine involved with the book) Now I don't stink and feel guilty around my grandchildren.

    I am grannyny and followed your link from the Q.
    I used the patch in the beginning of this quit. I feel whatever gets you away from cigarettes and the habit is a good thing.
    I also quit many times, this one is sticking.
    You quit many times and I wish you good luck with your plan to quit this time.

  3. Excellant. Most of the said ideas are very practical but in my opinion, a strong will power is necessary to quit smoking. Your blog have such niche topic that every body especially girls like.
